Willard Leroy Lemonds, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, July 12, 2020, at his home.
He was born Jan. 24, 1936, in Oak Ridge to Orville G. and Mamie E. Gobble Lemonds. He and Martha Chapman were married May 2, 1960, at Sikeston, Missouri.
He was an expert marksman in the National Guard.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar and traveling. Leroy thoroughly enjoyed the fruits of his labor and took great pride in everything he did. He led a great life with the love of his life, Martha Chapman. They celebrated 60 years of marriage this year.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Lemonds of Cape Girardeau; niece, Chiffonda Robinett of Cape Girardeau; daughter-in-law, Shawn Lemonds of Oak Ridge; son-in-law, Danny Macswain of Scott City; brothers, Jackie Lemonds of Cape Girardeau and Orville G. Lemonds Jr. of Arkansas; grandchildren, Teresa (Diana) Lynn, Crystal (Jeff) Robbins, James Lemonds, Ashley Lemonds and Chris White; and a great-grandchild, Cyrus Robbins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherry Macswain; son, Terry Lemonds; grandchild, Cody Macswain; and brother, J.W. Lemonds.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
