BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Willadene Fulkerson of Bloomfield, daughter of the late George and Beryl Asbell Cook, was born near Bloomfield on Nov. 3, 1917. She passed away at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at the age of 101 years, 1 month and 18 days.
March 9, 1938, she was married to Ralph Harold Fulkerson in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death May 10, 1980.
Willadene had lived in the St. Louis and Bloomfield areas all her life. She had worked as an licensed practical nurse, was a member of the Mount Pisgah General Baptist Church and had been a member of the Eastern Star in Bloomfield.
Surviving are a daughter, Hilda VanNatta of St. Charles, Missouri; two sons and their wives, Jim and Paula Fulkerson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Ray and Sondra Fulkerson of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, Cloyd Cook of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and a sister, Mary Lois Hamann of St. Charles. Other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by a brother, J.T. Cook, and two sisters, Margaret Stafford and Leauna Link.
Visitation will from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Chaplain Elijah Allen of Marble Hill, Missouri, officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield.
