WILFORD OVERBECK

JACKSON -- Funeral service for Wilford Overbeck of Jackson will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Overbeck, 61, died Monday, May 20, 1996, at his home.

He was born Nov. 22, 1934, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Albert and Viola Simpher Overbeck. He and Bernice Peetz were married March 3, 1957.

Overbeck worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau 26 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Doug Overbeck of Pocahontas, Dwayne Overbeck of Jackson; his parents of Gordonville; two brothers, Clifford Overbeck of Cape Girardeau, Weldon Overbeck of Allenville; two sisters, Wanda Lacey and Ruby Propst of Cape Girardeau, and two grandchildren.
