Wilda Corrine Rudert, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 22, 1920, at Paragould, Ark., daughter of Dr. George and Genevieve Doll Yallaly. She and Jean Albert Rudert were married on July 17, 1947, in Cape Girardeau. Rudert worked in the Cape Girardeau County Collector's office for 29 years, retiring in 1993. She was the deputy collector. Prior to that she had worked for Ely Walker and the Tucker Truck Line. She had attended Southeast Missouri State University and graduated from the Cape Business College. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 63. She was a volunteer at the Missouri Veteran's Home.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Ben G. Rudert of LaCrescent, Minn.; one daughter, Mary Jean Giles of Cape Girardeau; one brother, John J. "Doc" Yallaly of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Imogene A. Yallaly and Nancy Unterreiner, both of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Funeral Home on Sprigg Street from 3:30-7:30 p.m. today, with parish prayers at the funeral home 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Monsignor Richard Rolwing will officiate, with burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.
