CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Wilburn Lee Garner, 78, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 29, 1921, at Dexter, Mo., son of Thomas Lee and Amanda Trammel Garner. Garner had owned and operated a horse farm and raised quarter horses. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Wilburn Lee Garner, 78, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 29, 1921, at Dexter, Mo., son of Thomas Lee and Amanda Trammel Garner.

Garner had owned and operated a horse farm and raised quarter horses. He was a member of First Baptist Church at Morley, Mo., and the American Quarter Horse Association.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Garner of Ash Flat, Ark.; two daughters, Janet Smith of Morley, Lisa Leisure of Ash Flat; a sister, Elva McRoy of Dexter; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sons and four sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Revs. Dennis Cebulak and Vyron Yount officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery.
