WILBUR HERSHEL VAN POOL

SIKESTON -- Wilbur Hershel Van Pool, 69, of Sikeston and formerly of Bertrand died Friday, Nov. 19, 1993, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Dec. 30, 1923, at Bertrand, the son of Otha and Anna Thompson Van Pool. On June 14, 1946, he married Betty Bishop, who survives of the home.

He lived in Sikeston for the past 15 years, where he was a maintenance worker at the Sikeston Public Schools until his retirement in 1989. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army.

Other survivors include a son, Larry Van Pool of Sikeston; two daughters, Carolyn Hayden and Ruth Brown, both of Sikeston; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
