Wilbur L. "Wib" Barks, 81, of Sedgewickville died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 10, 1922, at Sedgewickville, son of Mathias and Dora Loberg Barks. He and Ruth Conrad were married May 10, 1941. She died April 17, 1980.
Barks was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He lived and farmed in the Sedgewickville and Patton, Mo., area all his life. He was co-owner of the former B&C Feed and Grain in the 1970s.
He was a member of Patton Presbyterian Church, Scottish Rite in St. Louis, Eastern Star and a member and past worshipful master of Millersville West View Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Statler of Sedgewickville, Tammy Kirn of Jupiter, Fla.; a sister, Norma Jones of Arnold, Mo.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, an infant daughter, a brother, and two sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
