NEW WELLS, Mo. -- Funeral for Wilbert Herman Versemann of New Wells will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells. The Rev. Walter F. Patzwitz will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo., from 4-8 p.m. today.
Versemann, 84, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 26, 1917, at Farrar, Mo., son of Herman and Maria Hanna Koenig Versemann. He and Norma A. Mangels were married Jan. 10, 1943, at Farrar. She died Aug. 26, 1996.
Versemann farmed in the New Wells community. He was a member of Immanuel Church, former member of the Men's Club, and had served in various offices.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Versemann of New Wells; a daughter, Janet Gross of Jackson; a sister, Wilma Hadler of Perryville, Mo.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
