Wilber E. Friese, 86, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. Friese was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Daisy, to Peter and Lulu Baer Friese. He and Bettie Jane Eaton were married Aug. 22, 1947, in Tilsit, Mo. She preceded him in death June 2, 2001...

Wilber E. Friese, 86, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Jackson, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Friese was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Daisy, to Peter and Lulu Baer Friese. He and Bettie Jane Eaton were married Aug. 22, 1947, in Tilsit, Mo. She preceded him in death June 2, 2001.

Friese worked for Ceramo Co. in Jackson for more than 25 years and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Price of Jackson; three sons, Darrell Friese of Jackson, Douglas Friese of Oak Ridge, and Donald Friese of Sedalia, Mo.; two brothers, Leonard and Clement Willie, both of Jackson; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at Hobbs Chapel Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Lutheran Home.
