W.H. "Mac" McMullen, 87, of Marble Hill, Mo., died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Olive Hill, Tenn., son of William Henry and Sadie Baugus McMullen. He and Etta Mae Barks were married on May 24, 1958. She died on May 28, 2001...

W.H. "Mac" McMullen, 87, of Marble Hill, Mo., died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Olive Hill, Tenn., son of William Henry and Sadie Baugus McMullen. He and Etta Mae Barks were married on May 24, 1958. She died on May 28, 2001.

McMullen was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a machine operator for the Crane Company in St. Louis for more than 35 years. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Millersville.

Survivors include several cousins, including C.A. Baugus of Benton.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Daniel Hale officiating. Interment will follow in the Russell Heights Cemetery.
