GORDONVILLE -- Wesley E. Hitt, 76, of Gordonville, died Monday, Jan. 17, 1994, at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson. He was born June 22, 1917, in Gordonville, son of Ernest and Myrtle Baugh Hitt. He and the former Emma Wendel were married Sept. 1, 1940. She died Sept. 21, 1968...

GORDONVILLE -- Wesley E. Hitt, 76, of Gordonville, died Monday, Jan. 17, 1994, at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson.

He was born June 22, 1917, in Gordonville, son of Ernest and Myrtle Baugh Hitt. He and the former Emma Wendel were married Sept. 1, 1940. She died Sept. 21, 1968.

Hitt was a farmer and self-employed carpenter many years. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, had served on the administrative and trustee boards, and former member of the Men's Club.

Survivors include two sons, Gene Hitt of St. Charles, Gerald Hitt of Jackson; two brothers, John Hitt of Huntington Beach, Calif., Harold Hitt of Uniontown; a sister, Evelyn Hanschen of Gordonville; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Tom Gross will officiate, with burial in Zion Church Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
