Wesley Otto Bock of Delta passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Independence Care Center in Perryville, Missouri, at the age of 96.

Wesley was born March 5, 1927, in Delta to the late Otto and Martha Tuschhoff Bock. He and Viola Phillips, the daughter of the late Walter and Virginia Heise Phillips, were united in marriage Jan. 5, 1952, at Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Wesley was a lifetime farmer. He was born and raised on the family farm near Delta. Farming was his love as well as his living, raising cattle and growing grain. He grew up shouldering the responsibility of the family farm due to his father's illness and because he was the only son. Wesley knew what it was like following a team of mules through the fields.

He served on the Cape Girardeau County committee for USDA for 10 years and served on the Delta school board. When not occupied with the farming operation, he and Viola loved to go dancing on Saturday nights. They would, on occasions, take bus trips with friends touring the U.S. Wesley loved spending time with his family; he cherished family gatherings.

Wesley had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau since 1985.
