ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral for Wendi Ann Miles of Missoula, Mont., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond. The Rev. Kent Lolling and Pastor Tom Snell will officiate, with burial in West Eden Cemetery at Cypress.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-8 p.m. today.

A memorial service will be held later in Eureka.

Miles, 35, died Monday, May 18, 1998, in a car accident near Hardin, Mont.

She was born Feb. 16, 1963, in Anna, daughter of Jerry and Judith Snell Miles.

Miles was a 1981 graduate of Lincolnwood High School in Raymond, and received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Sangamon State University in 1985.

She taught biology, genetics, anatomy and physiology 12 years at Eureka High School. She formed the Science Club; escorted students to Virginia, Maine, Canada, Utah and California each year for extended environmental studies; taught at Camp Discovery in Tennessee, Bryant Pond in Maine, Camp Care-A-Lot in Springfield; and held the annual Science Fair for Woodford County Schools.

Miles had just completed a year toward a doctorate degree in environmental microbiology at the University of Montana-Missoula.

Survivors include a daughter, Nichole Miles-Hampton of Fort Collins, Colo.; her mother; a sister, Kimberly Miles of Apex, N.C; and maternal grandparents, Delbert and Virginia Snell of Illinois.
