Wendel C. Lange, 58, of Scott City died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at his home.
He was born June 16, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, to Willis "Shorty" and Vera Schleinger Lange Sr. He and Vicki Lynn Baker were married Aug. 29, 1976, in Cape Girardeau.
Lange worked with Artco Barge Lines as first mate. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Scott City, NRA, was a Boy Scout leader and member of Order of the Arrow.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, Vera Lange of Scott City; two sons, Wendel Lange Jr. and Jon Lange of Scott City; a daughter, Wendi Lange of Scott City; a foster son, Eric Lange of Scott City; three brothers, Fred (Sherry) Lange and Roy Lange of Scott City, Larry Lange of Millersville; three foster grandchildren, Luke, Lacey and Riley Lange.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Willis "Butch" Lange, and his father.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Revs. Gregg Fina, Terry Eades and Tom Morris officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
