W.C. Porter Jr., 83, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 27, 1916, at Commerce, son of William C. and Floy Randall Porter. He and Etta Underwood were married April 24, 1940, in Wickliffe, Ky.
Porter was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Porter of Orange, Texas; a daughter, Julia Woodfin of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Hess Porter of Benton, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charlie Blaylock officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
