WARE, Ill. -- Wayne "Kate" Wright, 80, of Ware, died Thursday, June 9, 1994, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born Aug. 8, 1913, in Jonesboro, son of Wayne W. and Nellie Modglin Wright. He and Ivory Wilson were married in 1932. She preceded him in death.
Wright was a retired civil engineer, and attended the Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include three sons, Bill and Jim Wright of Ware, Richard Wright of Columbia, Mo.; 10 daughters, Vickie Wilson, Audrey Wright, Karen Wright, Barb Foster, all of Ware, Lois Dickerson of Anna, Debbie Pearman of Cobden, Sharon Smith of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Ruth Allen of Dayton, Ohio, Sondra Clover and Beverly Ellis of Grand Tower; a sister, Nellie Downs of Cape Girardeau; 19 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and a great-grandson.
Friends may call at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro after 4 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Prather officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
