MOREHOUSE -- Wayne Newton, 69, of Morehouse died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at his home. He was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Morehouse, the son of Lester and Golda Fansler Newton. He and Myrtle Babb were married in 1950 at Piggott, Ark. She survives. He had worked as a warehouse supervisor for Malone & Hyde. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army...

MOREHOUSE -- Wayne Newton, 69, of Morehouse died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at his home.

He was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Morehouse, the son of Lester and Golda Fansler Newton. He and Myrtle Babb were married in 1950 at Piggott, Ark. She survives.

He had worked as a warehouse supervisor for Malone & Hyde. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He also is survived by two sons, Mike Newton of Sikeston and Pat Newton of Essex; a daughter, Tonna Vails of Essex; a sister, Ulah Pitts of Morehouse; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Thomas officiating. Burial will be at the Essex Cemetery.
