COLEMAN, Texas -- Wayne Dalton of Coleman passed from this life Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at his residence at the age of 73 years.

Leetis Wayne Dalton was born April 23, 1946, in Advance, Missouri, and was the youngest child of the late Leonard and Nelle Rhodes Dalton of Whitewater. He spent his childhood in Missouri, where he graduated from Delta High School.

Wayne served his country with the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.

On Aug. 14, 2014, he married Helen Rosanelle Boenicke in Brownwood, Texas. He was a resident of Texas for 40 years, moving to Coleman in 2016, and was a member of the local Methodist church. Wayne was owner of Dalton Jewelers of Brownwood for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Rosanelle Dalton of Coleman; daughters, Trichele Allen of Gatesville, Texas, Chantaye (Mickey) Patton of Coppell, Texas, Rennae Dalton of Burlington, Kentucky, and Dyana (Calvin) Clark of El Cajon, California; stepsons, Chris (Brandy) Wesson of Round Rock, Texas, and Tad Jarvis of Itasca, Texas; grandsons, Jacob, Hunter, Peyton, Jack, Liam and Myles; one great-grandchild; sister, Suda Crawford of Newburgh, Indiana; and brother, Arthur Max Dalton of Cape Girardeau.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Michelle Dalton of Brownwood; sisters, Nelda Crader and Glenda Schuh; brothers, Bill and Darris Dalton; and stepdaughter Geri Jarvis.

A family memorial will be held later in his home state of Missouri.

Wayne was under the care of Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman.
