PINHOOK -- Wash Cooper, 93, of Pinhook died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at Charleston Manor.
He was born March 22, 1905, in Macon, Miss., son of Henry and Mattie Bush Cooper.
Cooper was a retired farmer, and member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include nine sons, Jerry Cooper of Memphis, Tenn., Willie Cooper of Boston, Mass., Jessie Cooper of Sikeston, Walter Cooper of Pinhook, Bennie Cooper of Syracuse, N.Y., Wash Cooper Jr. of Yuma, Ariz., Larry Cooper of Frederick, Okla., Tom Cooper of Blytheville, Ark., and Archie Cooper of state of Florida.
Also surviving are six daughters, Dora Brown of East Prairie, Lula Bankhead of Memphis, Gereldine Bigham of Charleston, Oce Lee of Kalamazoo, Mich., Lue Kemp of Detroit, Mich., Mary Griffin of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Rosetta Houston of Kalamazoo; 30 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae, Sept. 8, 1991; and by three sons.
Friends may call at Union Baptist Church after 11 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at noon Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Roosevelt Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
