Wardell W. Grace, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 16, 1915, in Union County, Ill., son of Cyress and Della Grace. He first married Marion Nelms, who died in 1971. He later married Evelyn Calvert, who died in 1979...

Wardell W. Grace, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 13, 1999, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born March 16, 1915, in Union County, Ill., son of Cyress and Della Grace. He first married Marion Nelms, who died in 1971. He later married Evelyn Calvert, who died in 1979.

Grace was a self-employed truck driver in Illinois many years.

Survivors include two sons, Warden Grace of Urbandale, Ill., Paul Grace of Mounds, Ill.; a daughter, Nancy Merritt of East Cape Girardeau, Ill.; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, a grandson and a great-grandson.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 9-10 a.m. Thursday.

Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, Ill. The Rev. Cy Smith will officiate.
