Wanda Lee Varney, 68, of Jackson died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at her home.
She was born March 25, 1943, in Dexter, Mo., to Harold and Opal Davis Holloway. Wanda married Gordon H. Varney on Dec. 13, 1960, in St. Louis.
Wanda was a cook for the former Ranch House Restaurant and later was a dietitian and cook for The Monticello House, both of Jackson.
She was a member of First General Baptist Church of Jackson and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
Wanda is survived by her husband Gordon; two sons, Scott (Lori) Varney of Benton, Mo., Gordon Varney Jr. of Rowlett, Texas; three daughters, Cheryl (Eddie) Woods, Amanda (Jeremy) Toll, Kathy (Allen) Wall, all of Jackson; two brothers, Ivan (Pat) Holloway and Larry Holloway, both of Jackson; four sisters, Debra (Bob) Heck of St. Charles, Mo., Judy Beattie of Cape Girardeau, Doris (Randy) Woods of Benton, Jo Gardner of St. Peters, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Trever, Edward, Chris, Timothy, Charlie, Emma, Tristen, Tim, Megan, Jake and Nathan; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rodney and Allen.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at First General Baptist Church in Jackson. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
