CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Wanda L. Smith, 85, of Chaffee, formerly of Sedgewickville, Mo., passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Wanda L. Smith, 85, of Chaffee, formerly of Sedgewickville, Mo., passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 19, 1926, in Sedgewickville, to Edward and Mabel Seabaugh Crites. She and Wendell Smith were married in 2006. He passed away that same year.

Wanda was a member of Sedgewickville United Methodist Church. She formerly worked at Walgreens and Eveready Manufacturing. She was an accomplished seamstress and did alterations. She enjoyed her pet cats and gardening.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Tanya O'Malley-Dopplick of Advance, Mo., Scarlett (Jon) Heise of Baxter, Tenn.; three brothers, Wendell (Bea) Crites of Mountain Home, Ark., Kelly (Wilma) Crites of Jackson, Rodger (Lavern) Crites of Sedgewickville; a grandson, Joshua (Jessica) Heise and their sons Zachary and Connor of Woodbridge, Va.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two sisters, Helen Loos and Beatrice Dennison.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Greg Dowler officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.

Memorials may be made to American Kidney Foundation or Multiple Sclerosis Society.
