TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. -- Wanda Allene Below Schmittzehe of Town and Country, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018, at the home of her daughter in St. Louis.
Wanda was born Oct. 16, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Joe Burnett and Eula W. Snider Below. She was an only child with a large, extended family and many beloved cousins.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Donald "Don" Eugene Schmittzehe.
She was the mother of David Michael "Mike" Schmittzehe, Susan Kay Schmittzehe Wilcox Boudinet (David Boudinet) and the late Donald Joseph Schmittzehe; and the proud grandmother of Hilary Marshall Wilcox and Marshall Werner Wilcox.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anselm Catholic Church in Creve Coeur, Missouri. The family will receive guests at St. Anselm's Parish House following the Mass. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will host a reception for friends and family at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 318 S. Spanish St. in Cape Girardeau, following the interment.
If desired, contributions may be made in Wanda's name to St. Anselm Catholic Church.
