Wanda Morris

Wanda Lee Morris, 92, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Lutheran Home.

Wanda was born to Leroy and Myrtie Smith on July 15, 1926, the fourth of 12 children. She and Clarence "Cotton" Wesley Morris Jr. were married Sept. 21, 1943, in Benton, Missouri. Together they had two sons, Wesley (Nancy) Morris of Gordonville and Randol (Marlene) Morris of Cape Girardeau.

She was an active member of First General Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She was employed by Florsheim Shoes, Southwestern Bell and later was a homemaker.

Survivors include her two sons; four grandchildren, Melanie (Darrell) Smith, Randy (Amanda) Morris Jr., Emily (Eric) Grabel and Jennifer Morris (Ryan Moore); and 10 great-grandchildren, Kristin, Israel, Audrey, Olivia, Luke, Graham, Bennett, Charlotte, Lorelei and Thatcher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and several siblings.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Saturdya at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Rudolph officiating. Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Wanda's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
