DEXTER, Mo. -- Wanda Pauline Carney, 78, of Dexter died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 13, 1922, at Fisk, Mo., daughter of Alfred and Florence Joyner Francis. She and Brady Carney were married May 26, 1941, in Piggott, Ark.
Carney retired from Butler County Division of Family Services in 1987. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dr. John Carney of Cushing, Okla., Larry Carney of St. Louis; a daughter, Kay Barbour of Fulton, Mo.; a brother, Ted Francis of De Soto, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. John Carney and the Rev. Wayne Dismuke officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
