JEFFERSON CITY — Wanda Mae Bowen, 85, of Jefferson City died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, at University Medical Center in Columbia.
She was born Aug. 2, 1938, in Poplar Bluff to Clifford and Gladys Ward Derrington. She and Richard I. Bowen were married in 1981 in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Jan. 26, 2002.
Wanda was a member of the Cole County Democrat Committee and Central Missouri Bridge Club. She volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital and St. Francis Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy Leuckel of Van Buren and Christopher Leuckel of Jefferson City; daughter, Kathryn Leuckel of Jefferson City; sister, Barbara Howard of Cape Girardeau; and five grandchildren, Benjamin Powell, Anastasia Leuckel, Anthony Leuckel, Alexis Leuckel and Nathaniel (Kristin) Leuckel.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, at the funeral home, with Deacon Mark Kiblinger officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to Jefferson City Animal Shelter.
