PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Walter J. "Wally" Wink-ler, 88, of Perryville died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at his home.
He was born March 4, 1925, at Apple Creek, Mo., to Theodore and Louise Ponder Winkler. He married Zita Hennemann on Oct. 16, 1954, at Apple Creek.
Walter was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Apple Creek. He was a self-employed painter. He loved to fish and hunt.
Surviving is his wife, Zita Winkler of Perryville; and two brothers, Hubert Wink-ler of Perryville and Tommy Winkler of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Miller Family Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church at Apple Creek. The Rev. James French will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery at Apple Creek.
