Walter W. Moeller, 86, of 1650 Perryville Road, died Friday, March 26, 1993, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, where he had been a resident since June 1992. He was born Dec. 5, 1916, at Friedheim, to Frederick and Caroline Ruesler Moeller. On June 4, 1931, he married Stella Bergman at Perryville. She preceded him in death on July 14, 1992...

Walter W. Moeller, 86, of 1650 Perryville Road, died Friday, March 26, 1993, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, where he had been a resident since June 1992.

He was born Dec. 5, 1916, at Friedheim, to Frederick and Caroline Ruesler Moeller.

On June 4, 1931, he married Stella Bergman at Perryville. She preceded him in death on July 14, 1992.

Moeller is survived by one son, Charles Moeller of Morganton, N.C., one daughter, Carolyn Schwab of Cape Girardeau, and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and sister and one grandson.

Moeller was employed for 43 years by Missouri Utilities as safety director, and district manager. He retired in January 1972. In 1966, Moeller was trained at John Hopkins University to perform cardiopulmonary rescusitation, and was the first person in Cape Girardeau to conduct CPR instruction classes.

Moeller was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he served on several committees. He was a member of the Men's Club, and was active in the Boy Scouts of America. He served as the first cubmaster of Cub Pack 8, sponsored by the Trinity Men's Club.

Moeller was active in the planning and development of the Lutheran Home. He served on the site and building committee, and later, on the Lutheran Home's board of directors, and as the chairman of the board.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., today, at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 1:30 p.m., at the McComb's Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. David Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
