SIKESTON -- Marion Walter Stallings, 83, of Sikeston died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
He was born July 8, 1916, at Huff Station near Charleston, son of Jim and Rosa Lee Grant Stallings. He and Nadine Walters were married May 18, 1940, at Benton.
Stallings had been a road salesman with International Harvester, was a salesman 20 years with Nailing, and 20 years with Cooney Equipment Co.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and its men's Bible Class, was an usher several years, and had served on the church board. He also was a member of SEMO Golf, and Elk's Lodge. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Marion Stallings of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Nedenia Ryan of Overland Park, Kan.; a sister, Ruth Williams of Sikeston; four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. Dr. Jim Davis and the Rev. Fred Leist will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
