PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Walter J. Schott, 99, of Perryville died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.
He was born Oct. 26, 1908, at Uniontown, Mo., son of Louis and Julia Ponder Schott. He and Myrtle Mae Puntmann were married Nov. 12, 1941, at Apple Creek, Mo.
Schott was a farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Tanz of Perryville; a son, Bill Schott of Brighton, Colo.; a brother, August Schott of Cody, Wyo.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish prayers are at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, with the Rev. Tony Datillo officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery at Apple Creek.
