MATTHEWS - Walter Lee Beck Sr., 63, of Matthews, died June 15, 1992 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born in Sikeston July 26, 1928. His parents were the late Spurlin Beck Sr. and Birdie Duke Beck.
Beck was a farmer and worked at DeWitt and Co. in Sikeston.
He married Virginia Lee Lathom in Sikeston on Nov. 24, 1949. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Walter Lee Beck Jr. of Sikeston; daughters Cheryl Lathum of Sikeston, Ann Porter of Matthews, and Rochelle Past of Glendora, Calif.; and brothers Lenzie Beck, Spurlin Beck Jr., Joe E. Beck Sr., and Billy Bob Beck, all of Sikeston, and Woodrow Beck of Matthews.
Six sisters survive: Charlene Humphrey of Dickson, Tenn., and Lillie Shelby, Motel Smith, Jewell Harber, Thelma McDonald, and Lorene Beck, all of Sikeston. Five grandchildren also survive.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral services will be held in the chapel Thursday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Lee Brummel of First Christian Church in Sikeston will officiate.
Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
