Walter Lee Jones, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Hayti, Mo., to the late Frank Jr. and Josephine Taylor Jones.

Walter worked at Ceramo in Jackson 19 years, Southeast Missouri State University 12 years, Fischer's Market 10 years and at Kohl's.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Jones of Cape Girardeau; six children, Michael (Janet) Jones of Las Vegas, Walter Jones Jr. of Farmington, Mo., Melinda (Mike) Hunt of Cape Girardeau, Jacqueline Morris of Arkansas, Lori (Anthony) Williams of Kansas City, Mo., and Catina Hollowman of Dexter, Mo.

Also 10 siblings, Billie (Carrie) Jones and Jeffrey (Beth) Jones of Cape Girardeau, Johnny (Brenda) Jones of Jackson, Tenn., Tyrone (Debbie) Jones of Victoria, Texas, Jennie Bell of Cape Girardeau, Frankie (Oscar) Ross of Mobile, Ala., Katie (Curtis) Walker of Victoria, Dianne (Stephen) Taylor of Anaheim, Calif., Gloria (Kevin) Wade of St. Louis and Dosha (Johnny) Body of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
