MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Walter E. Henk, 75, of Marble Hill died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at his home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of F. Walter and Elizabeth Schademan Henk. He and Lora Nussbaum were married Oct. 19, 1952.
Henk was a branch manager at Gooding Rubber in Benton, Ill., many years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, and held various offices. He was a member of Marble Hill Rotary Club, board member of Marble Hill Senior Housing, past president of Cape County Square Dancers Club and member of Masonic Lodge in Pittsburgh.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Douglas Henk of Warrenville, Ill., Kevin Henk of Benton, Ill.; two daughters, Debra Henk of Ironton, Mo., Becky Jarvis of Makanda, Ill.; a brother, Merle Henk of Snowshoe, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Klein will officiate.
