ADVANCE -- Walter H. Reed, 87, of Advance, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 1994, at his home.
He was born Nov. 7, 1907, in Mt. Carmel, Ill., son of Walter N. and Anetta Blackburn Read. He married Pansy Garver June 22, 1930. She died April 18, 1984. He later married Ila Fleeman Dec. 6, 1984.
Reed was a retired millwright and carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Max Reed of Aiken, S.C., Reuben Reed of Belleville, Mich., Danny Reed of Zalma, Steve Reed and Clyde Read of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Marion Allmon of Glen Allen, Susan Sierakowski of Elizabethtown, Ky.; a brother, Bryce Read of McDougal, Ark.; a sister, Paulina Potter of Northville, Mich.; 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sons, five brothers, a sister and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Ark.
