Walter Dickey

Walter Frank Gregory Dickey, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Nov. 12, 1928, at Kennett, Missouri, the fourth child of Frank W. and Ollie Ethel Gregory Dickey. On Aug. 18, 1963, he married Jean Carolyn Garrett, who preceded him in death July 6, 2004.

Two sisters and one brother also preceded him in death.

Survivors include three nieces and one nephew.

Dickey taught at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, where he held the position of counselor educator. After retirement from the university, he and his wife traveled extensively.

There will be no visitation or service.

Private burial was held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston, Missouri.
