Walter W. Collins, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 3, 1911, at Cape Girardeau, son of Samuel E. and Mary Elizabeth Wolters Collins. He owned and operated Walt Collins TV Repair shop. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an assistant scout leader for Troop 2 for more than 25 years and a member of Grace United Methodist Church...

Walter W. Collins, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 3, 1911, at Cape Girardeau, son of Samuel E. and Mary Elizabeth Wolters Collins.

He owned and operated Walt Collins TV Repair shop. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an assistant scout leader for Troop 2 for more than 25 years and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Opal Collins of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Anselm Williams officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery.
