PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Walter Balsmann, 73, of Perryville died at his home Sunday, March 25, 2001.
Balsmann was born on May 24, 1927, in Apple Creek, Mo., the son of Barney Balsmann and Ida Trapp Balsmann.
He was a truck driver for Giesler Concrete for 42 years. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus third degree, and the Holy Name Society.
Balsmann first married Mary Bedwell, who preceded him in death, and then married Doris Hansen, who also preceded him in death. He then married Billie Tucker on Oct. 7, 2000.
His survivors include his wife; a son, Patrick Balsmann of Effingham, Ill.; a daughter, Susan Jasper of St. Louis, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
Besides his first two wives, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville, with the parish wake service with the Knights of Columbus at 7 p.m. Visitation is also from 6:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church of Perryville, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery.
