PERRYVILLE -- Walter Hugo Amschler, 87, of Perryville died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 27, 1911, in Perry County, son of George Ernst and Sophia Unterreiner Amschler. He and Regina A. Winschel were married April 6, 1937, at Apple Creek. She died April 5, 1988.
Amschler was a machine operator at International Shoe Co, and also had been a maintenance worker at St. Vincent de Paul Grace School. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Holy Name Society.
Survivors include a son, Zeno Amschler of Perryville; two daughters, Finian Boesch and Mildred Moll of Perryville; three brothers, Gilbert Amschler of Old Appleton, Rudolph Amschler of Perryville, Theo Amschler of Oran; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30-10:20 a.m. The parish wake will be at 7 tonight, and the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
