PERRYVILLE -- Wallace W. Young, 79, of Perryville, died Monday, Aug. 15, 1994, at his home.
He was born Jan. 14, 1915, in Perryville, son of Edward C. and Adelheidt Palisch Young Sr. He and Lucille M. Versheldon were married Nov. 19, 1937.
Young was an embalmer at Young and Sons Funeral Home, and former mayor of Perryville.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, chairman of Perry County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, and had been a member of Missouri Embalmer and Funeral Director Association more than 50 years. He was a former member of the church choir, and past chairman of the congregation.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David Young; a daughter, Mary Gotto; two brothers, James and Edward Young Jr., all of Perryville; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and on Wednesday from 6:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Church, with the Rev. Donald Loesch officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
