PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Wallace J. Sutterer, 79, of Perryville died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at his home. He was born Nov. 10, 1925, in Perryville, son of Edwin and Teresa Layton Sutterer. He first married Bertha Laurent Nov. 8, 1947. She died June 1, 1992. He and Dorothy Cissell Leible were married Jan. 2, 1993. She died May 22, 2002...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Wallace J. Sutterer, 79, of Perryville died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at his home.

He was born Nov. 10, 1925, in Perryville, son of Edwin and Teresa Layton Sutterer. He first married Bertha Laurent Nov. 8, 1947. She died June 1, 1992. He and Dorothy Cissell Leible were married Jan. 2, 1993. She died May 22, 2002.

Sutterer was a retired carpenter. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, VFW Post 4282, Amvets, Knights of Columbus and Carpenters Union.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include four daughters, Kathleen Fehl and Mary Roeper of St. Peters, Mo., Linda Wiley of St. Charles, Mo., Marge Markway of Perryville; two stepdaughters, Diane Lane of Lake Tomahawk, Wis., Janet Ernst of Perryville; a stepson, Dave Leible of Perryville; a sister, Inez Yeager of Perryville; nine grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. A wake service will be held at 7 tonight.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Alphonse Hoernig officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 4282.
