PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Wallace F. Kiefer, 87, of Perryville died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 26, 1928, in Perry County, Missouri, son of William E. and Anna Jannin Kiefer. He and Mary Lou Prost were married Oct. 23, 1954. She preceded him in death March 14, 2007.
Wallace was a farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and was sexton at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Highland, Missouri. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post 133 and MFA.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include five children, Leo (Sandy) Kiefer, Ray (Kim) Kiefer and Bonnie (Bob) Riehn, all of Perryville, Wayne (Karla) Kiefer of Sedgewickville, Missouri, and Margie (Randy) Sammons of Fenton, Missouri; a brother, William V. Kiefer of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters, Leona Kiefer and Anna Laura Weinkein.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8:35 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home. The parish wake is at 5 p.m. and American Legion wake at 5:15 today. The rosary is at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral Mass will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Highland, Missouri, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133 and Missouri Delta Team.
