JONESBORO, Ill. -- Wallace Gordon Karraker, 74, died Thursday, July 20, 2000, at Rehab and Care Center of Jackson County in Murphysboro, Ill.
He was born Oct. 1, 1925, in Carbondale, Ill., son of Ray Wallace and Margaret Browne Karraker.
Karraker was a 1943 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School. He received degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois.
He founded The Gordon Karraker Co. in St. Louis, which sold electrical engineering equipment.
Karraker was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include two sisters, Dee Finney of Winnetka, Ill., Jane Spink of Marco Island, Fla.; two brothers, David Karraker of Aiken, S.C., and Robert Karraker of Charleston, Ill.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Jonesboro Cemetery.
