Funeral service for Wallace Chaney, 611 Albert, will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate. Burial will be private.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m.
Chaney, 69, died Monday, April 18, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Witherspoon, Ark., son of Benjamin T. and Vivian Wallace Chaney. He and Barbara McClard were married Oct. 23, 1982.
Chaney retired in 1986 after 20 years with Midwest Towing Co. of Ste. Genevieve. He also had worked at Foeste Nursery and the former Superior Electric Co. He attended the Unitarian Church in Carbondale, Ill., and was a member of Experimental Aircraft Association at Painton. He served 10 years in the U.S. Navy, and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Benjamin Chaney of the home; his mother, Vivian Huey of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Peggy Pulley of Abita Springs, La., Bobbie DeMain of Bonne Terre, and Diane Carden of Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
