PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Wallace "Wally" Baudendistel, 89, of Perryville died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1914, at Silver Lake, Mo., son of Lawrence and Anna Deitsch Baudendistel. He and Verna A. Richardet were married Sept. 21, 1940, at Perryville.
Baudendistel retired in 1981 from Sabreliner Aircraft Industries at McBride, Mo. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and 1st Degree member of Knights of Columbus.
He served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stephen Baudendistel of Houston, Texas, David Baudendistel of Hannibal, Mo.; a daughter, Linda Buerck of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Carl Baudendistel of Perryville, Howard Baudendistel of St. Louis; two sisters, Rita Mullins of Perryville, Anita Wendel of St. Louis; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, a sister, and a grandson.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and Friday from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Parish prayers with Knights of Columbus will be at 7 tonight. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Friday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 133.
