WHITEWATER -- Waldo Richardson, 81, of Whitewater died Sunday, Oct. 19, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born June 2, 1916, in Cape Girardeau County, the son of Ben and Nellie Simmons Richardson. On Sept. 16, 1940, he married Jessie Rhodes. She survives.
He also is survived by two sons, David Richardson of Jefferson City, and Boyd Richardson of Whitewater; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
One sister preceded him in death.
He was a farmer in the Whitewater community for a number of years.
He worked in construction for 23 years for the former Burton Gerhardt Construction Co. and for five years for the Landgraf Construction Co. He retired in 1978.
He was a member of AFL-CIO Local 282 of Cape Girardeau, attended Bethlehem General Baptist Church at Crump and was an avid fox hunter.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson, with the Rev. Willis Smith and Rev. Jimmie Fulbright officiating. Burial will follow at Proffer Cemetery at Crump.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
