W. EVERETT BIGGS

COBDEN, Ill. -- W. Everett Biggs, 87, of Cobden, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

He was born Oct. 8, 1910, at Cobden, son of Benjamin F. and Eva Mae Morris Biggs.

He married Berdie G. Williams Sept. 16, 1945, at Cobden.

He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He was a member of Limestone Baptist Church near Cobden and the Cobden American Legion Post No. 259.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Terryl Biggs of Burlington, Vt.; a brother, Collin Biggs of Carterville; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wesley Henson officiating.

Interment will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
