VURTIS H. FAULKNER

NEW MADRID -- Vurtis H. Faulkner, 79, New Madrid Route 1, died Wednesday, May 31, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Phil Campbell, Ala., son of William Walter and Maudie Idella Gay Faulkner. He and Alice Marie Zachary were married Oct. 16, 1937, in New Madrid.

Faulkner was a farmer, and member of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth Faulkner of New Madrid; two daughters, Jackie Vaughn of New Madrid, Karen Moore of Hallsville; four sisters, Eula Mitchell of New Madrid, Ora Holt of Memphis, Tenn., Nettie Lewis of Newnan, Ga., I.V. Simmons of Troy; five granddaughters, and three great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, three half brothers and four half sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Revs. Jim Tollison and Jerry Dudley officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
