VOTRA M. HOLYFIELD

SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Votra M. Holyfield of Sikeston will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bob Burnes will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Holyfield, 91, died Sunday, March 26, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 22, 1903, in East Prairie, daughter of James J. and Tora Lee Russell Baker. She and C.P. Holyfield were married Jan. 3, 1925, in New Madrid. He died April 21, 1992.

Holyfield was a charter member of Temple of Faith General Baptist Church, and member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 137.

Survivors include two sons, H.J. "Cotton" Holyfield of Sikeston, Carl Holyfield Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Doris Stephens and Ruth Dover of Sikeston; a sister, May Mays of Sikeston; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
