EAST PRAIRIE -- Vondice Delores Smith, 82, of East Prairie, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 1996, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born Feb. 20, 1913, at Parma, daughter of Albert and Myrtle Elizabeth Jones Adams. She and Henry A. Smith were married June 26, 1937. He preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1985...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Vondice Delores Smith, 82, of East Prairie, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 1996, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Feb. 20, 1913, at Parma, daughter of Albert and Myrtle Elizabeth Jones Adams. She and Henry A. Smith were married June 26, 1937. He preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1985.

Smith had lived in Mississippi County since 1941. She was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie.

Survivors include two daughters, Wava Skrabala of Sikeston and Phyllis Grubbs of East Prairie; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel. The Revs. Jim Nichols and Burl Britt will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
