MOREHOUSE -- Funeral service for Vixie Jones, formerly of Morehouse, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Morehouse. The Rev. Jimmy Vent will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.

Jones, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1995, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.

She was born Dec. 28, 1911, in Catron, daughter of James Wesley and Delia Carson Wood. She and Clifford "Nippy" Jones were married in 1939 at Bloomfield. He died in 1974.

Jones moved to Oran in 1974 from Morehouse, and to the nursing home in 1988.

Survivors include a sister, Opal Bradshaw of Oran.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
